New Year, New Packaging!

Spring semester is back in session and our judges are excited to see how the 2018 Student Design Challenge (SDC) will unfold!

This year’s challenge is to design subscription box packaging that enhances the customer experience and can be reused for storage. Judges chose this scenario because it is relevant to student life and fits in with the booming subscription box industry. Professors and students alike are already buzzing about ideas and strategizing with one another to create the best design!

The Ideas & Innovations handbook will be distributed this semester. The handbooks, sponsored by our friends at the Paperboard Packaging Council, teach students about the versatility of paperboard and play an integral role in the SDC. Former SDC participants have credited the handbook with giving them the tools to place in the top three.

So, are you ready for the challenge? Can you envision yourself with the winning check in hand at the 2018 SDC awards presentation? If the answer is yes, we look forward to seeing you there!

We’d like to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at with any questions about the SDC. If you haven’t already done so, make sure your school has submitted the intent form to participate in this year’s challenge.

We hope you enjoy working with our favorite substrate: paperboard.

Happy designing!
